Diagnostic Imaging Centers P.A. (DIC) began as a small outpatient radiology office in downtown Kansas City in the early 1950’s. Dr. Sidney Rubin and Dr. David Dann were Radiologists with the foresight to see the need for outpatient radiology services in the Kansas City area.
Taking outpatient radiology to a whole new level and under the early leadership and guidance of Dr. Rodger Lambie and Dr. Edwin Herman, DIC grew to include 6 outpatient facilities in the Greater Kansas City area: Kansas City North, Lee’s Summit, Independence, Overland Park, Olathe and the Plaza. “Due to the geographical distribution of our centers, we feel we can service our referring physicians and their patients in an easy and timely manner,” says Dr. Jennifer Crawley, Diagnostic Imaging Centers, P.A., and current President.
DIC is a medical imaging practice established to provide outpatient radiology imaging based on personal service, professional staff, impeccable quality, convenient locations, affordable pricing, and state-of-the-art equipment with compassionate service. With DIC handling over 180,000 patient exams annually, DIC is clearly the leader throughout the KC Metro area, in outpatient radiology.
Fifteen Radiologists make up the DIC Physician team including radiologist subspecialists in the fields of Breast Imaging, Women’s Imaging, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Body imaging, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Neuroradiology. As the physicians directly responsible for maintaining quality standards and State of the Art technological sophistication, Diagnostic Imaging Centers’ radiologists take great care creating an imaging environment where you feel both comfortable and confident that the exam you undergo adheres to the stringent requirements set forth by the American College of Radiology.
Maintaining state-of-the-art Imaging Centers in an environment of rapid technological growth demands an unwavering willingness and commitment to upgrade and replace imaging equipment. To this end, a steady stream of MRI, CT, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine equipment has passed through the doors of Diagnostic Imaging Centers.
Less obvious than the arrival of a new CT or MRI scanner is the ongoing expansion of our information management capabilities. For example, Diagnostic Imaging Centers has implemented new Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication systems (PACS), Web-based Image Retrieval and Voice Recognition Systems all designed to improve the efficiency by which we image the patient and provide timely, if not immediate, results to the referring physician.
At present we are capable of scanning a patient and sending a final report to the referring physician before that patient leaves our office. In the case of MRI and CT scans, images from that exam are available 24 x 7 via a secure password protected, HIPPA compliant, internet server anywhere the physician has access to high speed internet.
Innovation, Compassion and Dedication are the fundamental building blocks of our practice. We understand that all of these elements are necessary to the continued successful operation of our Imaging Centers. For over three decades, Diagnostic Imaging Centers has been committed to medical excellence. Our goal has always been to make a significant contribution to the medical community we serve and most importantly, to our patients.
